Command Sgt. Maj. Sean Clark enlisted into the U.S. Army from Los Angeles, California, in August 2002 and graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Clark's assignments include 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division; 6th Ranger Training Battalion; 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment; 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment; 82nd Airborne Infantry Division; University of Utah ROTC; 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment; and Headquarters, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Clark deployed twice to Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and recently conducted a rotation in Europe to support Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce.
Clark's military education includes U.S. Army Ranger School, U.S. Army Sapper Leaders Course, Jumpmaster School, Basic Airborne School, Air Assault School, Marine Corps Scout Sniper School, Malaysian Tracking School, Senior Tactical Instructor Course, Basic Instructor Training, Combatives Level 1, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Course, the U.S. Sergeant Major Academy, Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, and Warrior Leaders Course.
He received his associate degree in general education from American Military University and a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and workforce management from the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College.
Clark's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Good Conduct Medal (seven awards), the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (four awards), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon with numeral 2, the Ranger Tab, the Sapper Tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the U.S. Army Instructor Identification Badge, Spanish Jump Wings and British Jump Wings.
He is married to Tashawndra and has two sons, Xander and Barrett.
