U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade exit C-17 aircrafts during an airborne operation alongside Swedish, Italian, and Spanish paratroopers during Exercise Swift Response 24, Hagshult, Sweden, May 7, 2024. Swift Response 24 is a U.S. Army Europe led exercise focused on the strategic deployment of continental United States-based forces, employment of Army Prepositioned Stocks, and interoperability with Allies and partners. Taking place from 5 May to 17 May, Swift Response 24 demonstrates 173rd Airborne Brigade’s ability to leverage host nation capabilities to increase USAREUR-AF’s operational reach. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance. (U.S. Army video by Sgt. Mariah Y.
