Tashawndra Clark Awarded Shield of Sparta as 2-503rd Conducts Change of Responsibility

Tashawndra Clark, spouse of Command Sgt. Maj. Sean Clark, received the U.S. Army Shield of Sparta – Heroine of the Infantry during a ceremony hosted by 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment in Vicenza, Italy, July 21, 2025. Presented by the National Infantry Association, the award recognizes spouses and civilian supporters who make significant contributions to the Infantry community. On the same day, Command Sgt. Maj. Clark relinquished responsibility as the battalion’s senior enlisted advisor. The change of responsibility ceremony reinforces the vital role of noncommissioned officers in the U.S. Army and highlights their enduring support to their respective commands. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
